Eco Lodge Resort
Overview
The Eco Lodge Resort is an environmentally conscious hospitality development on Andros, set within the ecologically sensitive Land Crab National Preserve near Blanket Sound. TAS Architecture organized the 16,000 ft² resort as a collection of single, double, and triple cottages — twenty rooms in total — dispersed across the site so that each function sits in its own low-impact structure, minimizing disturbance to the preserve's geological formations and waterways.

Design Intent
The development had to comply with stringent environmental and ecological protocols, including on-site recycling of all liquid and solid waste generated by its guests. Cottages with hipped roofs and deep verandas nestle into native xeriscaped planting, while an arrival pier, interpretive center, and open-air dining and gathering spaces connect guests to kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, and fly fishing — keeping the architecture light on the land while targeting LEED Silver certification.
