Central Bank of The Bahamas
Overview
This TAS competition submission proposes a new headquarters for the Central Bank of The Bahamas on the Royal Victoria Gardens site in downtown Nassau. Conceived as a bold, modern image for the guardians of the country's monetary system, the 150,000 ft² building overlooks the harbour, ocean, and city centre while its landscaped grounds revitalize the historic Royal Victoria Gardens to their former significance.

Design Intent
The design projects a confident, forward-looking architectural statement while respecting the heritage of an institution entrusted with the nation's monetary reserves. Layered glazing and warm timber-screened facades frame shaded public gardens, terraced steps, and water features — a civic landscape that reads as both secure and welcoming by day and night. A geothermal total-energy system and state-of-the-art operating systems target LEED Platinum certification.
