New Bight International Airport
New Bight, Cat Island, Bahamas|2026
Overview
TAS Architecture developed the design for a contemporary international airport terminal at New Bight — balancing operational efficiency, passenger comfort, and a visual identity rooted in the Bahamian landscape. The project encompasses the main terminal, support buildings, and integrated landscape for arrivals and departures.
Program
- —Passenger terminal
- —Departure hall
- —International arrivals
- —Domestic arrivals
- —Baggage and service areas
- —Ground transportation drop-off
- —Support and ancillary buildings
- —Site landscaping
Design Intent
Clean horizontal forms, natural stone and metal cladding, and strategic yellow accents create a welcoming civic presence. Clerestory glazing, covered drop-off canopies, and tropical landscaping connect the building to its island setting while meeting the demands of modern air travel.
